The Alexander Central Cougars had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Hibriten on Tuesday as Alexander Central made off with a 59-33 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-7.
Chad Lasher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with nine rebounds. Garison Millsaps was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Alexander Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Hibriten, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Watauga at 8:00 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Watauga's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Hibriten, they will head out on the road to take on South Caldwell at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. South Caldwell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hibriten in North Carolina (South Caldwell is ranked 149th, while Hibriten is ranked 534th).
