The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team scored 59 points and restricted the visiting Hibriten Panthers to 33 in the Cougars league victory on Tuesday.

The Cougars now sport a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Watauga for a 3A/4A Northwestern contest on Wednesday, January 24. Alexander Central will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 78-64 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 12-4.

The Panthers (1-14) will now prepare for their contest against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans come into the 3A/4A Northwestern contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, South Caldwell triumphed over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 57-51, in a league contest.
