Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 66-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newton-Conover upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Red Devils host Hickory (Hickory, NC) to clash with the Red Tornadoes in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 30. The Red Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Hickory won 78-59 in their recent non-league challenge against Huss (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Cougars confront the North Davidson Black Knights (Lexington, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, November 30. Alexander Central will attempt to improve on its 2-2 season record. The Black Knights come into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 76-72 non-league loss to Davie (Mocksville, NC).
