Creekside Christian Academy blew past Rock Springs Christian Academy 12-3 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Carter Mcginnis was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mcginnis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Daylen Williams and Bryce Mccadden did most of the damage at the plate: Williams scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Mccadden scored two runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Mccadden has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Trey Gatlin, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Creekside Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, The King's Academy made easy work of Heritage Preparatory on Monday and carried off a 14-4 win. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly ten runs.
The team relied heavily on Hayden Beasley, who scored four runs and stole Eight bases. while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Dominick Hopkins was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
The King's Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. Creekside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Creekside Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. However, it's not like The King's Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
