The North Star Cougars can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Claysburg-Kimmel 44-16 at home. North Star's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Abby Barnick was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of North Star's points. Another player making a difference was Kylee Cramer, who scored 11 points.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bailey Tipton, who scored six points.
North Star's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Star will challenge Shade at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Claysburg-Kimmel is on the road again on Friday and play against Southern Huntingdon County at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Southern Huntingdon County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
