Baseball Game Preview: San Jose Bulldogs vs. Overfelt Royals

San Jose is 2-8 against Overfelt since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bulldogs will head out to take on the Royals at 4:30 p.m. San Jose has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times San Jose and Silver Creek had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs lost 13-3 to the Raiders on Tuesday.

San Jose saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Krish Dilidili, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Dilidili has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Another was Roman Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Overfelt hadn't done well against Gunderson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Grizzlies. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Overfelt has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for San Jose, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

San Jose beat Overfelt 13-9 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
