Baseball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Has No Trouble Against Eisenhower

Murrieta Mesa won against Fontana last Saturday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Murrieta Mesa Rams blew past the Eisenhower Eagles 7-1. Fans of the Rams have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Carson Kephart looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Brett Rawls was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Resendiz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Murrieta Mesa hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Murrieta Mesa's record is now 4-0. As for Eisenhower, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Murrieta Mesa will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Temescal Canyon at 3:15 p.m. on March 19th. Murrieta Mesa's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so Temescal Canyon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eisenhower, they will take on Jurupa Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Jurupa Hills will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Eisenhower surely won't give up without a fight.
