The Riverside Panthers suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2023 on Monday. They were outmatched by Ellwood City on the road and fell 60-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riverside in their matchups with Ellwood City: they've now lost eight in a row.
Claire Noble was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points for Ellwood City. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Sturgeon, who scored 13 points.
Riverside has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Ellwood City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.
Riverside will be playing in front of their home fans against Neshannock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ellwood City, they will head out on the road to face off against Mohawk Area at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
