The Lincoln Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Mira Mesa Marauders at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lincoln has struggled recently with 21 losses in a row, while the Marauders will arrive with nine straight wins.
Last Friday, Lincoln ended up a good deal behind the Pointers and lost 45-31. Lincoln was down 37-11 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Mira Mesa got the win against the Centurions on Friday by a conclusive 54-31.
Ivorii Seals was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Otero, who scored 12 points.
Lincoln's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Mira Mesa, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
Lincoln was dealt a bruising 64-24 loss at the hands of the Marauders when the teams last played back in January. Can Lincoln avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
