Great Commission's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 35-29 defeat to they. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Blair County Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2018.
Gabi Dull continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Blair County Christian, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Dull has scored at least 25% of Blair County Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Alexa Hall, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Great Commission's defeat was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Blair County Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Great Commission will take on Belleville Mennonite at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. Belleville Mennonite comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Blair County Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Grace Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th.
