Yutan-Mead extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-0. Everything went their way against the Raymond Central Mustangs as they made off with an 8-2 victory. Fans of the Patriots have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Adie Gale made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Gale was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Beth Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jersey Siske, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Yutan-Mead hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters every time they've taken the field this season.
As for Raymond Central, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Raymond Central's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tess Roubal, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Coincidentally, Yutan-Mead and Raymond Central will both be playing North Bend Central the next time they take the field. The Patriots will head out to face the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
