After six games on the road, Coastal Christian is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Maricopa Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Coastal Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Coastal Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Shandon on the road to the tune of 63-2. That 63-2 margin sets a new team best for Coastal Christian this season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Maricopa, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a serious blow against Valley Christian Academy on Thursday, falling 59-6.
Despite their defeat, Maricopa saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Katia Espinosa, who scored four points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Espinosa also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
The victory got Coastal Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Maricopa, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Coastal Christian against Maricopa in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 44-8 win. Will Coastal Christian repeat their success, or does Maricopa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
