West Shore Christian Academy's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 43-25 fall against Greenwood. West Shore Christian Academy lost against Greenwood in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-19 score last time.
It was another big night for Leah Ritzman, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks for Greenwood. Ritzman is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Hale, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
West Shore Christian Academy's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Greenwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Shore Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Greenwood will be home for the holidays to greet Juniata at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Juniata presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greenwood in Pennsylvania (Juniata is ranked 116th, while Greenwood is ranked 242nd).
