The Armstrong Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Petersburg Crimson Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Armstrong has four straight wins, Petersburg has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Armstrong can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 59-14 win over Richmond City School of the Arts.
Meanwhile, Petersburg was the victim of a rough 45-25 defeat at the hands of Matoaca last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Petersburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Matoaca is ranked 115th).
Armstrong's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Petersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Armstrong skirted past Petersburg 2-0 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Armstrong since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
