Overton had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.4 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the McLeod Longhorns with a sharp 50-24 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while the Longhorns are ranked 1283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Overton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Hall, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Hall is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Still, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Overton's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for McLeod, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.

Overton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-32 win against Alto on the 3rd. As for McLeod, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-35 victory against Linden-Kildare on the 3rd.
