Fresno is 8-2 against the Stallions since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Fresno Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Madera South Stallions at 6:30 p.m. Fresno has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Friday, Fresno took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 64-34 victory over the Hornets. Given Fresno's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Hornets are ranked 977th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Madera South was able to grind out a solid victory over the Highlanders on Friday, taking the game 34-27. The victory was just what Madera South needed coming off of a 58-35 loss in their prior game.
Madera South got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was BRIANNAH LORTA out in front who scored 15 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which LORTA has scored at least a third of Madera South's points. The team also got some help courtesy of JALISSA KIRKPATRICK, who scored eight points.
Fresno's record now sits at 18-8. As for Madera South, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15.
Everything went Fresno's way against the Stallions in their previous meeting back in January as the Warriors made off with a 45-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fresno since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
