Monte Vista is a perfect 3-0 against Bishop O'Dowd since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Monte Vista Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Monte Vista is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand Liberty a 2-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Bishop O'Dowd put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Miramonte. Considering the Dragons have won 14 contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Keating and Katelyn Wong scored all three of Bishop O'Dowd's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 31 goals.

Monte Vista's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five games. As for Bishop O'Dowd, their victory bumped their record up to 18-0.

Monte Vista beat Bishop O'Dowd 2-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monte Vista since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
