Ridge Point's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Fort Bend Hightower's usually-dominant pitching crew. Ridge Point was the clear victor by an 18-2 margin over Fort Bend Hightower. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won nine in a row.
Maliyah Lewis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Lewis was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Ridge Point let Braelyn Daniels and Alysa Perez run wild. Daniels went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI, while Perez went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs Daniels has posted since back in April of 2024. Corrine Collins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Ridge Point hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Bend Hightower struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Bend Austin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Fort Bend Bush 8-6.
Roxanna Ramirez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amira Marfani, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Hiranya Singh Talan, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Ridge Point's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Bend Austin, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
