The Redbank Valley Bulldogs came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against North Clarion as Redbank Valley made off with a 70-49 win. Given Redbank Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while North Clarion is ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Redbank Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mylee Harmon, who scored 25 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Harmon is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Adyson Bond, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Redbank Valley pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for North Clarion, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redbank Valley will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Mercyhurst Prep at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Mercyhurst Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for North Clarion, they will head out on the road to take on Punxsutawney at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
