Softball Recap: Platte Valley Wins Going Away Against Wray/Yuma

Platte Valley's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Wray/Yuma Eagles 12-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 two weeks ago.

Platte Valley got a massive performance out of Danica Fosket, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Fosket a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landree Edstrom, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Platte Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Wray/Yuma, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platte Valley will square off against Brush at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Beetdiggers have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Wray/Yuma, they will face off against Chase County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
