The American Eagles lost against the California Grizzlies back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. American had to suffer through a rough 83-48 loss at the hands of California. While losing is never fun, American can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while California is ranked 49th).
Taylor Lim continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for California, scoring 13 points along with three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Lawson, who scored 11 points.
American now has a losing record at 6-7. As for California, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American's road trip will continue as they head out to face Monte Vista at 5:00 p.m. on January 6th. As for California, they will challenge Amador Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Amador Valley has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while California will arrive with five straight victories.
