Basketball Recap: Pacheco's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Pacheco easily dispatched McLane last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Pacheco Panthers fell just short of the Manteca Buffaloes by a score of 32-29 on Friday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sasha Siemiller, who posted ten points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Tava, who put up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks.

Manteca can attribute much of their success to Jaesha Dunn, who had six points and six steals. Dunn continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Pacheco's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Manteca, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Pacheco and Golden Valley will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Manteca, they and Ripon will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
