The Workman Lobos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Sierra Vista 71-25. Workman has not had much luck with Sierra Vista recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Sierra Vista was led to victory by Cailei Buna and Zaira Eulloque. Buna scored 24 points along with nine assists and six rebounds, while Eulloque scored 24 points along with nine steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Eulloque has scored at least a third of Sierra Vista's points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Winlock, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Workman's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Sierra Vista, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Workman will take on Nogales at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sierra Vista, they will be playing at home against Duarte at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Duarte is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
