The Cumberland Valley Eagles's game on Saturday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Red Lion. Cumberland Valley just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sienna Manns, who scored ten points. Peyton Basehore was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Red Lion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Julia Sedora out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Smith, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Cumberland Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Red Lion, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Cumberland Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chambersburg at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Red Lion, they will be playing at home against South Western at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Western's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Red Lion's offense will have their work cut out for them.
