Chavez has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They came up short against the Chatsworth Chancellors on Friday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 717th, while the Chancellors are ranked 182nd).

Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 0-7-2. As for Chatsworth, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chavez will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on January 15, 2025. Chatsworth will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Cleveland at 4:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
