The Wrangell Wolves lost against the Metlakatla Chiefs on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Wrangell was the victim of a tough 54-34 loss at the hands of Metlakatla. Wrangell has struggled against Metlakatla recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Lexi Cook, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. She also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryley Booth, who scored 16 points.
Wrangell bumped their record down to 2-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Metlakatla, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wrangell and Petersburg will face off on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
