Will Rau looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025.
On the hitting side, Cole Dawes was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aiden Esparza, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
San Ramon Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Dublin fell victim to De La Salle and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Gaels haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
San Ramon Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dublin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. San Ramon Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Dublin struggles in that department as they've averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
San Ramon Valley couldn't quite finish off Dublin in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 and fell 4-2. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
