The Wasatch Wasps will head out to square off against the Payson Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasatch will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
While Wasatch didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Emery by a score of 14-10 on Saturday.
Khloe Bell made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Bell was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Braelyn Hill was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydnee McPhie, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Wasatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Payson faced Maple Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lions fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 7-6.
Anna Marvin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. London Armstrong was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Wasatch's record now sits at 7-5. As for Payson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wasatch has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Payson struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wasatch got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2021 against Payson by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Wasps repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
