Softball Recap: Fruita Monument Starts Season with Win at Home

Fruita Monument took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Heritage Eagles. The Wildcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 5, 2024 (when they won 12-0).

Lexi Hulet was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Cutshall, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Fruita Monument always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted an OBP of .381.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Fruita Monument wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-0 win against Vista Ridge on the 22nd. As for Heritage, they have also already played their next game, a 14-10 victory against Pueblo South on the 22nd.
