Mountain Empire suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by High Tech SD on the road and fell 64-12. Mountain Empire was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-5.
Carli McGhee put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored eight points. That was a full 66.7% of Mountain Empire's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Gompers Prep Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 30-25 to High Tech NC.
The losing side was boosted by Kamariyah Mccollough, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadia Mohamed, who scored eight points.
Mountain Empire has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Gompers Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
