Baseball Recap: Stephenson Has No Trouble Against Cedar Grove

Stephenson never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Cedar Grove Saints. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Khari Crenshaw was a standout: he scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Stephenson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Blakelon McClammy, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Stephenson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar Grove only posted an OBP of .214.

Stephenson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Cedar Grove dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stephenson beat Cedar Grove by a score of 15-0 on Friday.
