Palmdale is 0-10 against Quartz Hill since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Palmdale Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Quartz Hill Royals at 5:00 p.m. Palmdale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Palmdale suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 back in December of 2023. They were beaten by Highland 54-12. While losing is never fun, Palmdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 996th, while Highland is ranked 257th).
Meanwhile, Quartz Hill didn't have too much trouble with Victor Valley at home on Saturday as they won 49-33. The victory was just what Quartz Hill needed coming off of a 56-26 defeat in their prior match.
Quartz Hill's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ashantee Palmer, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Mandy Frozina, who scored 19 points along with seven steals and five assists. Frozina is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Alonna Rollins was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Palmdale bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.3 points per game. As for Quartz Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Palmdale was taken down by Quartz Hill 49-15 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Palmdale was down 37-6.
