After a string of three wins, Walnut's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. The matchup between them and the Lawrence County Red Devils didn't end well, with the Walnut Wildcats falling 73-55.

Lawrence County was led to victory by Braylon Dame and Jackson Smith. Dame posted 23 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Smith went 6 for 10 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Dame a new career-high in assists (four). Ben Newton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lawrence County, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Walnut wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 96-65 defeat against Wheeler on the 6th. As for Lawrence County, they will venture away from home to take on Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Decatur likes a good challenge.
