Kadyn Shackelford was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josh Hunter, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Sparks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Omar McKenzie, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks. McKenzie has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jaoquin Tagulao was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five assists and two steals.
North Valleys now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Sparks, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Valleys will take on Portola at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
