After three games on the road, Huntington Park is heading back home. They will take on the Bell Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Monday, Huntington Park suffered a tough 61-39 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Huntington Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 946th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 362nd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Juana Vargas, who scored 14 points. Ingryd Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Bell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 36-24 to Legacy.
Huntington Park's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Bell, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Huntington Park took their win against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 41-21. Will Huntington Park repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
