Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mayfield). They were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over the Providence Pioneers on Monday. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 24 points or more this season.

Mayfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kristen Awakuni out in front who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Christine Ellis, who earned 14 points.

Mayfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Providence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mayfield will take on Polytechnic in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Providence and Heritage Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
