Morse is 2-7 against Madison since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tigers will head out to face off against the Warhawks at 4:00 p.m. Morse is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Morse took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mission Bay, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Buccaneers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since May 20, 2025.

Alyssa Truby spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Morse's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reylyn Sakamoto, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Madison entered their tilt with Lincoln on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Hornets 17-3. Considering the Warhawks have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Aniyah Shelby (2029) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Madison got a massive performance out of Aryana Burnett (2029), who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those five hits gave Burnett (2029) a new career-high. Olivia Rosas (2029) was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Madison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .485 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Morse's record now sits at 14-9. As for Madison, their record is now 16-7-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Morse has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .493. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've averaged .467. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Morse came up short against Madison in their previous matchup back in April, falling 6-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
