The McNair Mustangs will challenge the M.L. King Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. McNair is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.

McNair will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Cedar Grove, who they had gone 0-8-1 against in their nine prior meetings. McNair was the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over Cedar Grove on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Andra Williams and Bryce Nix made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Williams pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Meanwhile, Nix struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Williams scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Nix scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

McNair always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .586 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when M.L. King challenged Jackson on Wednesday. M.L. King lost 11-1 to Jackson. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

M.L. King saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Ray, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

M.L. King dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for McNair, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. McNair has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 11.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like M.L. King struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

McNair suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to M.L. King in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can McNair avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
