The West Shamokin Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against River Valley, falling 63-24. West Shamokin has not had much luck with River Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Ava Persichetti continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for River Valley, scoring 24 points along with eight steals and five assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Persichetti has scored at least a third of River Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alessia LaMantia, who scored nine points along with four steals.
West Shamokin's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for River Valley, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Shamokin will take on Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for River Valley, they will be playing at home against Penns Manor at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
