The Cloverdale Eagles will play host again and welcome the Upper Lake Cougars, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cloverdale is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in California (the Eagles are ranked 217th, while the Cougars are ranked 934th).
Cloverdale stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Willits at home to the tune of 73-29. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-16.
Cloverdale can attribute much of their success to Amara Galvan, who scored 19 points along with two steals, and Tylie Hatcher, who scored 28 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Galvan has scored all season. Gissell Bucio was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Upper Lake came up short against the Trojans last Friday and fell 50-43. Upper Lake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cloverdale pushed their record up to 19-4 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.7 points. As for Upper Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Everything came up roses for Cloverdale against the Cougars in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 63-32 win. Does Cloverdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
