Given Santa Teresa's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Pirates are ranked 948th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Santa Teresa to victory were Dahlia Daboul and Nevaeh Lacy. Daboul scored 15 points, while Lacy scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Hwang, who scored seven points.
The win (which was Santa Teresa's third in a row) raised their record to 13-7. As for Piedmont Hills, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Santa Teresa will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Willow Glen is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Piedmont Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leigh is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Pirates a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
