The Apollo Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Zimmerman, falling 45-7.
Despite the loss, Apollo still got an impressive performance from Maurice Brown, who gained 101 total yards and a touchdown.
Apollo's loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Annandale and 7-1 Litchfield (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.9% over those games). As for Zimmerman, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-7 record this season.
Apollo will head out on the road to face off against Mora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Zimmerman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Academy/Heritage Christian Academy/Maranatha Christian Academy/West Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Providence Academy/Heritage Christian Academy/Maranatha Christian Academy/West Lutheran is ranked 155th, while Zimmerman is ranked 148th).
