Escalon has been on a difficult stretch since their win on November 26. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Sonora Wildcats an easy 5-0 win. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 8-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Escalon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-3. As for Sonora, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
