The Kokomo Wildkats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 91-74 win over Cathedral. The win was familiar territory for Kokomo who now have eight in a row.
Kokomo had a senior duo take command as Flory Bidunga dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds and Karson Rogers dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bidunga is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Korbyn Hammel, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Cathedral lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keaton Aldridge, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brady Koehler, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Kokomo pushed their record up to 17-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Cathedral, their loss ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kokomo will face off against the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond and the Wildkats are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Cathedral, they will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
