The Elsinore Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Orange Vista Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Elsinore posted their biggest victory since November 13, 2023 on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 53-17 win over Vista del Lago at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Elsinore.
Ashirah Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five assists. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rae Chrysler, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Orange Vista waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Canyon Springs by a score of 35-25.
Taniyah Hutcherson was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lei-Lani Fenison was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
The victory got Elsinore back to even at 12-12. As for Orange Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Elsinore have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 40.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Orange Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Elsinore strolled past Orange Vista in their previous matchup on January 10th by a score of 45-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elsinore since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
