There's no place like home for the Duarte Falcons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 62-53 victory over Nogales on Wednesday. This was a revenge contest for Duarte, as the team was forced to settle for a 51-46 loss when these two played two weeks ago.
Nogales' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shady Robles, who scored 15 points. Jordin Glass was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Duarte is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Nogales, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duarte will take on the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest Christian's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Nogales, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Dons at 5:00 p.m. Sierra Vista is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
