The Sacred Heart of Jesus Comets lost against the Flintridge Sacred Heart Tologs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Sacred Heart of Jesus took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Flintridge Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart of Jesus has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xitlali Botts, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Botts has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Michelle Canete, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Flintridge Sacred Heart, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' road trip will continue as they head out to face Arroyo at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th. Flintridge Sacred Heart won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Duarte at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th.
