Marshall will face off against South El Monte at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
South El Monte will be up against a hot Marshall team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Eagles put the hurt on Rosemead with a sharp 9-2 victory on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

George Jennings and Nate Callaway made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jennings tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Meanwhile, Callaway struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. At the plate, Jennings went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Callaway scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Callaway has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Thatcher, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Lain, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Marshall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosemead only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, South El Monte never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Mountain View 10-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Ryan Leon tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Armando Huizar was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Canchola, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
South El Monte's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Marshall, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1.
Marshall came up short against South El Monte in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 10-6. Can Marshall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
