The Glendora Tartans came tearing into Friday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Rancho Cucamonga by a score of 50-41. Given Glendora's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Rancho Cucamonga is ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glendora got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylie Anderson out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnie Herrmann, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Glendora's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Rancho Cucamonga, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glendora is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Ramona at 6:30 p.m. on December 13th. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they will face off against Santiago at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
