Horizon Christian Academy players are dominating the boys basketball statistics in Indiana during the early part of the season. They also are tall and young.
Sidney Curry, a 6-foot-8 sophomore, leads the state in rebounds with a 15.2 average, is tied for No. 2 with double-doubles in all five games and is No. 4 with a 25.8 scoring average. He also averages 3.2 assists and 2.8 blocks for the Jaguars, who won their first four games before being routed by the nation's top-ranked team, La Lumiere, 99-55. Curry proved he can play with the best, compiling 20 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in that contest. The Jaguars still are averaging a prolific 91.4 points.
Junior Yuri Swinford (6-4) is the state assists leader with seven per game. He also averages 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 steals and is shooting 62 percent from the field for the Jaguars. Junior teammate Coleone Davis (5-10) is No. 8 in assists with 4.6 per outing. Ozzie Johnson, a 6-5 sophomore, is tied for No. 2 in the state with five double-doubles and ranks No. 3 in rebounds with 13 per outing.
Liberty Christian supplies the state's leading scorer, senior Ronny Williams, who is averaging 29.3 points with a high of 42. The 5-8, 130-pounder also averages an impressive 12.5 rebounds (No. 4 in the state), 3.8 assists and 3.5 steals. Additionally, he is in the top five with four double-doubles.
The pacesetter with eight double-doubles (in 12 games) is 6-0 senior Marlon Hall from Delaware Christian Academy.
